#33 – Shiny New Stuff 💎
Some new-ish typefaces I foraged from the interwebs.

I love looking at new typefaces. It just feels so good, as if it scratches an itch in your brain. Just me, perhaps? Anyway, since the last email a few months ago I’ve found a bunch of new typefaces I really want to share with you.
Enjoy!
The Good Stuff
Atypo Foundy made some of my favourite typefaces so when I spotted this one this morning I had to grab a license. It’s pay-what-you-want, starting at 20 bucks. You can also grab the medium weight for free.
I love me a good typewriter font. I don’t get to use them a lot in my branding projects but I cannot help to just love ‘em. Affix takes inspiration from the letterforms of early typewriters, combined with aesthetics taken from monospaced typefaces. Good stuff.
A lovechild between DM Sans and Poppins? I like. And the best thing? It’s available for free. You can see it in action here. I’m a fan.
Am I going to use any time soon for some branding? No. Does that stop me from absolutely loving these shapes? Also no. The font comes in one weight, costs 50 bucks or so and I spend the last 5 minutes being mesmerised by the specimen pdf.
I struggled to take a screenshot that truly catches how awesome Polymath is. This font aint cheap but it has everything you might ever need. Seriously considering using this for my personal branding… 🤔
Fine, don’t tell anyone this font was actually released in 2021, I just found it recently. It comes in one weight and has a very distinct look, like text used for engraving. Anyway, it’s very affordable and all proceeds go towards cancer research.
I’m sorry about yet another black and white screenshot. Someone please tell those font designers out there to use more color. The font and the name however are great. Really loving the playful nature of this typeface and the fact that Formerly Known offers free trials for their full library.
Inspired by classic Brittisch headlines, Scenik has a nice retro feel to it. It even comes with ritalic (italics to the other side), tho I’m not sure when you’d use those. My hands are itching to play around with this…
